“The Research or Experimental Use Exception: a Comparative Analysis” (English version only).
This document was prepared for Health Canada by the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy and the Health Law Institute. It provides an analysis of the various applications of this exception in the United States, Australia and Europe as well as the applications for international trade in this area.

Past Events
“Health Biotechnology and Intellectual Property: A New Framework” Florence, October 27-28 2004.
The second IPMG workshop devoted to the modeling of Intellectual Property regimes in Health Biotechnology joined together governmental and non governmental policy-makers, academics and researchers from all over the world. It happened successfully in the amazing setting of the European University Institute. A report summarizing the workshop debates and findings will be available at the beginning of 2005.
General Information
Visiting Professors from Argentina.
In the context of the collaborative research project financed by the argentine Foundation ANTORCHAS “Justice, Intellectual Property and the Human Genome”, Professor of Philosophy Maria Graciela de Ortuzar from National University of La Plata has joined the CIPP team and will work at the Centre until August 2005.
In the same context, the Centre also welcomed Professor of Philosophy Maria Teresa Lavalle from the University of Buenos Aires during December 2004.
Another visitor from Argentina is awaited for March 2005.
We are very happy to have them with us!
